CUSTOM & MADE-TO-MEASURE OTTOMANS
What Can I Customise On An Ottoman?
One of the advantages of choosing an ottoman that’s made to order is that you don’t have to settle for exactly what you see on the page. From the fabric and legs to the size and finishing details, there’s plenty of room to make it yours.

Quick Answer
You can customise almost every visible element of an ottoman, including the fabric, legs, trim, buttons and dimensions. Depending on the design, you may also be able to change details such as the top style, height or add features such as a glass or tray inset.
Extended Answer
Start with one of our designs
Most customised ottomans begin with an existing design that’s already pretty close to what the customer wants. You might love the shape and style, for example, but want it a little longer, in a particular fabric or with a different leg.
That doesn’t necessarily mean you need a completely bespoke ottoman. Often, we’re simply adapting an existing design to make it work for you.
DESIGN TIP Small changes can make a surprisingly big difference. Changing the legs, piping or buttons can completely alter the character of the same ottoman design.
Change the fabric and the finishing details
Fabric is one of the simplest ways to make an ottoman your own. You can choose from our fabric collection or supply your own material if you’ve already found something you love.
Depending on the ottoman model, you can also customise details including:
- Leg style, height and finish
- Piping or contrast piping
- Buttons and buttoning
- Trim
- Top detailing
- Contrasting fabrics for different parts of your ottoman
EXAMPLE If you’ve fallen for one of our styles but you need a different size or height you can ask us to make you one to fit your own floor space. Or, how about you like a piped trim on your ottoman but you would LOVE a fringe applied to the bottom – that’s a customisation we can help with.
Change the size and proportions
Because our ottomans are made to order, we’re not necessarily restricted to the standard dimensions shown on the website.
If you’ve found the right design but need it longer, shorter, wider, narrower or a different height, talk to us about what you’re trying to achieve.
This can be particularly useful when you’re designing an ottoman for a specific position, such as the end of a bed, underneath a window or alongside a particular sofa.
BALANCE TIP You don’t need to customise every detail to make an ottoman feel personal. If you’ve chosen a statement fabric, keeping the legs, piping or buttons quieter can give the whole design a little more room to breathe.
Expert Tip
Before assuming you need something completely bespoke, have a look through our existing designs and find the one that’s closest to what you have in mind. A surprisingly small tweak can often get you exactly where you want to be.
